Immunogen

The epitope recognized by PLA0107 maps to a region between residues 250 and 300 of human Forkhead Box O3a using the numbering given in Swiss-Prot entry O43524 (GeneID 2309).

Forkhead box protein 03A (FOXO3a) belongs to a large family of Forkhead proteins that possesses a winged-helix DNA-binding domain called Forkhead box (FOX). FOXO3a is a transcription factor that functions to induce apoptosis in the absence of survival factors and in response to oxidative stress. Under conditions of oxidative stress FOXO3a is acetylated and localized to the nucleus where it may act as a transcriptional repressor.
